Item: #CCPJ
PJ Andrews’ paintings are studies of cartoon icons created with paint and glitter on canvas. Every inch of each one-of-a-kind creation sparkles with a solid surface of glitter, or as PJ says “diamond dust,” a term originally coined by one of his art idols, Andy Warhol. The process PJ embarks on to create his art is not unlike the traditional approach taken to animation cels. He first sketches the character outline, then masks off the areas, which are painted one at a time with layers of paint and glitter. Finally he applies the black outline with a thick paint medium that makes the characters rise off the canvas. The work, a blend of contemporary pop and folk art gives the characters PJ loves the superstar appearance they truly deserve. This is a special order piece, please allow 3 - 4 weeks delivery.

What is Conservation Glass?

Standard glass is suitable for most artwork in most homes. As ambient (indirect) sunlight and artificial light do not present a fading risk, most people do not require special UV filtering glass.

If you have a lot of direct sunlight in your home, you may want to upgrade your artwork purchase to conservation glass. Conservation glass filters out 97% of harmful UV rays and will prevent fading of signatures and artwork, as well as yellowing of paper.

The best thing to do is avoid hanging any art or photographs in direct sunlight. If you can't avoid direct sunlight, conservation glass is well worth the additional cost.
