TOM EVERHART

Tom Everhart's association with Charles Schulz and The Peanuts began in 1980 when Everhart was asked to create some drawings of the characters for a commercial project. A successful painter with no background in cartooning, Everhart prepared for the task by projecting Schulz's comic strips onto a 25 foot wall of his studio for closer examination. He was amazed to discover that, blown up larger than life, Schulz's pen strokes translated into painterly brush strokes that closely resembled his own form of expression.

In the years that followed, Tom Everhart and Charles Schulz become close friends and colleagues. Schulz was so impressed with Everhart's bold and fanciful depictions of his characters that he gave Everhart permission to do further work his beloved Peanuts characters. Tom Everhart is the only artist ever granted permission to paint interpretations of Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Lucy, and the rest of the Peanuts gang. |
