November 10, 2007. Ruth Clampett meets with fans!
Animation Connection was excited to welcome Ruth Clampett, daughter of legendary animator/director Bob Clampett, to Toronto. Ruth is a bridge to the fascinating origins and early days of Warner Bros. animation. She offered a wealth of behind the scenes stories of life at the decrepit "Termite Terrace" studio where the cartoons were created.
Collectors were able to purchase some great production artwork as well as some long ago sold out limited editions!

January 12, 2007. Gallery owners Steve & Kelly Watt featured on FANatical
Each week FANatical features the story of two or three super-fans of classic television series. Featured shows have included I Love Lucy, Gilligan's Island, The Flintstones and many others. When it came time to pay tribute to The Simpsons, who did the show's producers call? Animation Connection's own Steve and Kelly Watt of course! With a business built, in part, around the Simpsons, they were a natural choice. FANatical airs in Canada on TVTropolis and a US distribution deal is expected soon. Watch for Steve and Kelly in reruns!

Thanks to Pete for being such a great guest, and to all the fans who came out to celebrate our favorite shows and meet one of the key people who make it all possible!

Simpsons fans from far and wide turned out for Animation Connection’s second annual Simpsons Mania event. Featured guests this year were Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart, Ralph, Nelson, and other characters) and David Silverman (original Director and current Supervising Director).
David thrilled the crowd with drawing demonstrations, deleted scenes, rough pencil tests and hilarious behind-the-scenes stories of his nearly two decades with The Simpsons. Nancy treated us to the North American debut of her one woman play "My Life as a Ten Year Old Boy". What a thrill for all us Simpsons nuts!

August 27th, 2004. Animation Connection at the Canadian National Expo
When more than 15,000 comic book enthusiasts, Trekkies, Star Wars fanatics (some in full costume!), Japanese anime fans, and more gathered for Canada's largest collectibles show, Animation Connection was there. While Homer Simpson, Bugs Bunny, Stewie Griffin and our other pals may have felt a little out of place, we felt it was our duty to spread the word about classic animation to a crowd more familiar with the USS Enterprise than with Moe's Bar or left turns at Albuquerque. Besides... we know that Kodos, Kang, and Marvin Martian are the only real aliens.

July 10th, 2004. Animation Connection at "Bugs Bunny on Broadway"
When renowned composer George Daugherty’s spectacular "Bugs Bunny on Broadway" show visited Ottawa, Animation Connection was there. Owners Kelly and Steve Watt were honored to present a beautiful piece of art to the National Arts Center orchestra on behalf of the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. The Bugs Bunny giclee is seen here with Animation Connection's Ying Mark, whose framing completed the look of this impressive canvas.
We were also honored to be asked to exhibit a collection of Chuck Jones artwork in the lobby of this prestigious facility in Canada’s capital. Thanks to the NAC staff for making our visit such a pleasure, and thanks to the thousands of Looney Tunes fans who enjoyed the performance and the exhibit!

October 19th, 2003. Simpsons Mania a HUGE Success!
On Oct. 18th Simpsons Mania featuring original Simpsons director Wes Archer hit the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the response was phenomenal! Over 2,000 Simpsons fans showed up to view and purchase 300 pieces of original and limited edition artwork from The Simpsons, Futurama and King of the Hill.
Wes Archer entertained the crowd as he showed the animation process behind such characters as Homer, Bart, Mr. Burns, Bobby Hill, Boomhauer, Bender and many other fan favorites. Wes was overwhelmed by the fan response as he stayed for 3 1/2 hours AFTER the event was finished signing dedications for fans and said that it was an "incredible rush of being in front of so many fans".

September 21st, 2002. Chuck Jones Tribute a Huge Success!
Thanks to the more than 400 people who attended in person, and to the many others who visited the website and shopped online and by telephone.
Linda Jones was really touched by the turnout and by the many people who waited in line for such a long time to speak with her and to express their love of her father's work and their condolences for his recent passing. Lots of people left with one or more great pieces of Chuck Jones art as well, and I saw a lot of happy faces!

September 1st, 2002. New Name… Same Great Gallery!
As many of you know, we have been known as Animation Alley for the seven years we have been in business. When we launched our online gallery four years ago, we discovered to our dismay that another company owned what would have been the logical domain name for us to use. As a result, we have operated online as AnimationToronto.com. Needless to say, some confusion ensued.
We are now Animation Connection. Online we are AnimationConnection.com. No more confusion!

July 21st, 2002. Steve Meets Simpsons Cast… Can't Stop Smiling!
If it wasn't enough of a thrill to attend the Simpsons cast script reading at Montreal's Just For Laughs Festival, Kelly and I (and Sydney, Animation Connection's youngest Simpsons fan) were lucky enough to be invited backstage to meet Matt Groening, Dan Castellaneta, Hank Azaria, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and the rest of the cast. Thanks to Carmella and all our pals at Fox for arranging this unforgettable experience!
I can tell you first hand that Matt and the cast are really terrific people. Here they are, making gazillions of dollars doing a show watched by millions, and they still care enough about the fans to come all the way to Montreal and put on a show for a few thousand Simpsons nuts. And to cap it all off, an hour after the show ended Matt Groening was standing outside the back entrance of the theater signing autographs and talking to fans!
